Berthline — Port berth scheduling concept

A maritime concept connecting vessel calls, berth windows, pilot readiness and cargo context. Independent concept study by Revolvo Tech.

Independent product concept · Illustrative data

Coordinate the port call around a shared berth window.

Designed for: Port planners and marine-operations teams. Format: Berth-allocation workspace.

The problem

A berth allocation needs to fit vessel timing and port resources. A planner should be able to understand the selected call without separating its berth window from pilot and cargo details.

The direction

Berthline combines a small berth schedule with a vessel queue and the handoff facts for the selected port call.

Inside the product

  1. Select the vessel call

The queue retains the vessel name and its next operational concern.

  2. Review the berth window

Time-axis rows show the selected berth alongside working and inbound vessels.

  3. Confirm the allocation

Vessel ETA, cargo and assigned pilot accompany the berth-confirmation action.

Design decisions

A schedule rather than another chart

Horizontal vessel bars explain the berth-planning task directly.

Center labels in the bars

Vessel text sits vertically centered inside a consistent bar height.

What we would validate next

Confirm vessel-data feeds, berth constraints, pilot availability and the port’s allocation authority and update rules.

This is an independent design exploration. The screens use illustrative brands and records; they describe a proposed experience.
