The problem

A shift handover needs to preserve what has happened and what comes next for a resident. Family visits and activities also need context without obscuring the care team’s immediate tasks.

The direction

Hearthcare organizes the resident’s day by time, with a clear current activity and a concise handover note before sharing an update.

Inside the product

  1. Identify the resident

Name, room and the morning plan establish whose day the team is reviewing.

  2. Follow the daily plan

Morning check, family visit and activity group appear in a chronological list.

  3. Share the handover

A short shift note preserves completion context before the team shares an update.

Design decisions

Warmth without distraction

Terracotta and cream create an approachable care setting while text remains the main working material.

Keep time and status aligned

A stable time column and a quiet active-row background make the sequence easy to scan.

What we would validate next

Confirm care-plan ownership, consent and family-update permissions, resident identity and handover recording with the care organization.
