01 / Visual direction

The problem

A wave can be ready across several zones while a single short pick remains unresolved. The lead needs to see the requested quantity, available stock and practical next assignment.

The direction

Stackline isolates Zone C’s stock check, compares requested and available cases, and suggests a reserve-bin task before release.

Inside the product

  1. Review the wave

Four zone cards separate ready areas from the flagged stock check.

  2. Understand the shortage

Requested, available and short quantities share one stock-exception row.

  3. Assign the check

The reserve-bin task and suggested zone lead accompany the assignment action.

Design decisions

A specific exception view

The app focuses on a short pick rather than repeating a warehouse overview.

Selection without displacement

Every zone reserves the same border width, keeping the flagged card’s contents aligned.

What we would validate next

Map WMS inventory updates, reserve-location accuracy, substitution rules and wave-release authority with warehouse operations.
